PORTFOLIO > BOURRÉ ATLANTIC CITY MULTI-USE OUTDOOR SHIPPING CONTAINER PARK
Atlantic City’s first outdoor shipping container court at Bourré on New York Avenue began Phase 2 of construction last month with the arrival of the first of five BoxPop® containers. The 18,000 sq. ft. park features a bar, concession stand, bathroom, VIP lounge, and a bridge, all made out of 40’ and 20’ BoxPop® custom containers. Developer, Pat Fasano, and the team plan to install a mobile concert stage and a three-story, container hotel in the open-air court next summer.
The area outside Bourré, a New Orleans-inspired bar and restaurant, is set to become Atlantic City’s first outdoor shipping container court. The containers will house a bar, concessions and a viewing section on a bridge that overlooks a summer music stage. A shipping container hotel, to be built on the grounds, is also in the plans for 2022. “Atlantic City is an outdoor playground,” said Pat Fasano, the energetic developer and Bourré owner, as he watched the bars’ spacious lawn begin to resemble what he envisioned two years ago when he purchased the property.
“Right now we want every bit of this outdoor space. This is what’s really going to help drive our business for the foreseeable future until we pass this COVID business.”
The containers are the second phase of a four-step plan for the 26 lots he purchased in the area now called The Orange Loop – New York Avenue, St. James Place and Tennessee Avenue, between Resorts Casino Hotel and the Claridge. The first phase was a new parking lot already completed and the fourth phase will be the hotel.
