BoxPop and Momentum Worldwide Team Up for American Express Event Production at NBA All-Star Weekend

For one of the most high-profile weekends in sports and culture, NBA All-Star Weekend became the backdrop for a high-impact brand experience. Momentum Worldwide sought a bold, scalable, and highly customizable event venue to support a vintage pop up retail shop for their client, American Express. The challenge was to create and build a custom, dynamic footprint that could stand out in a crowded experiential landscape, accommodate heavy foot traffic, and be deployed efficiently within tight timelines. Flexibility, speed, and visual impact at the venue were critical, without sacrificing structural integrity or brand storytelling.

To meet the demands of this large-scale event, the team needed to build an adaptable solution that could function within a single footprint while maintaining a premium look. Traditional construction methods would not provide the efficiency or flexibility required, so the focus shifted to custom container solutions. The goal was to create a custom environment using modified shipping containers that could support the strict and evolving brand needs. Every aspect would come together to deliver a seamless, engaging experience throughout the event for both the businesses and attendees. Additionally, the environment needed to support a curated retail experience, balancing product display, circulation, and brand storytelling within a compact yet impactful layout. With multiple stakeholders involved, precision in execution and clear alignment from concept through install were essential to delivering a cohesive and successful activation.

BoxPop®, a division of Britten, delivered a fully custom shipping container solution engineered for both form and function. Leveraging its signature system, the team designed and fabricated a multi-unit activation space using two BoxPop® 20' shipping container units. These custom shipping containers were designed to expand into open, engaging environments with drop down stage doors. The usage of custom containers allowed to maintain a compact transport footprint as an additional benefit. Each custom container was transformed into a branded event space, complete with integrated graphics, interactive elements, and immersive touchpoints tailored to every expectation. The design of the containers allowed for seamless flow between activation zones, supporting high traffic and enhancing the overall attendee experience. The vertically integrated approach by BoxPop® enabled efficient planning, rapid fabrication, and precise on-site installation, ensuring every unit was event-ready under demanding conditions. This streamlined, end-to-end execution minimized logistical complexity while maximizing creative impact on-site.

The result was a high-energy, visually striking event space that drove strong attendee engagement and elevated brand presence in one of the most competitive experiential environments of the year.
