Founded in 2012, Traverse City Whiskey Co. is the largest craft-spirits distillery in the state. When they needed to expand their tasting room’s outdoor seating and serving space to make social-distancing guests more comfortable, they turned to the experts at BoxPop® to produce a custom-built and branded, pop-up patio that co-owner Chris Fredrickson dubbed, The Container.

To allow for a covered seating area, engineers installed a full-flip, hydraulic door to the front of a 10’ x 20’ shipping container. After adding flip-up awnings, they created a rooftop deck and painted the pop-up in satin black. Britten WoodWorks™ built custom furniture and the print team fabricated branded decals for the interior and exterior of the patio.

Located along a busy intersection close to downtown, TC Whiskey’s tasting room became an even a bigger draw for locals and visitors with the eye-catching addition of their branded container. “It’s been a big hit so far,” Frederickson, told the Traverse City Record-Eagle. “Having the extra square footage to keep our guests apart has been a goal, and with our BoxPop® container we are finally able to have it.”
